Port Highlight: Ponce, Puerto Rico

Passengers will find Ponce, Puerto Rico is delightful. With a rich culture and strong focus on its history, the municipality makes this port visit a Caribbean favorite.

  1. Stroll through Plaza las Delicias. Constructed in 1670, the Plaza of Delights is the heart of Ponce’s historic zone. Visit the city’s oldest colonial building, the Casa Alcaldía (City Hall), cool off at the Fuente de los Leones (Fountain of the Lions), or hop on a trolley to other city attractions.
  2. Get lost in the Museo de Arte de Ponce. Ponce’s art museum boasts a 4,500-piece permanent collection from Europe, Africa and the Americas, including works spanning 30 centuries.
  3. Mingle with Ponceños at La Guancha. Ponce’s boardwalk overlooking the Caribbean is a great place to sample local cuisine at the kiosks. Try a cold malta (a non-alcoholic carbonated malt beverage) and cuchifritos (fritters), including bacalaitos (fried codfish) and pastelillos (meat or cheese turnovers).
  4. Visit the house that rum built. Constructed in 1926 during the height of sugarcane production in Ponce, El Castillo de Serrallés (Serrallés Castle) was once home to the powerful, rum-producing family of the same name. When the tour ends, buy a bottle of Don Q -- Serrallés’ most popular rum.
  5. See Ponce’s most iconic symbol. Constructed in 1882, the wood-framed, red-and-black-striped Parque de Bombas was the first fire station on the island. Today, it is a museum honoring Ponce’s firefighters.
  6. Feel the island rhythm. The Museo de la Música Puertorriqueña (Museum of Puerto Rican Music) celebrates the island’s musical heritage, with special emphasis on traditional danza, bomba and plena.

Port Highlight: St. Thomas

"Life is a Beach" in St. Thomas and everyone will tell you the same. In addition to our clothing-optional fun, what's exciting about this island are all of the alternatives. Ladies -- we all know that "Diamonds are a girl's best friend" but did you know that St. Thomas is the mecca for diamond shopping? Seeing is believing...don't miss this opportunity.

Bolongo Bay

Located on the south shore of the island at the Bolongo Beach Resort, this beach offers a variety of watersports and beach toy rentals.

Coki Beach

Located on Coki Point, this white sand beach with crystal clear water offers excellent snorkeling and diving. Beachside eateries serve picnic table fare including burgers, sandwiches and some local dishes. There is a dive shop, jet ski rental and several vendors renting snorkel gear, beach chairs and floats. Right next to Coral World Ocean Park, it’s easy to make a day of visiting both attractions.

Hull Bay

A favorite beach for local fishermen, families and surfers. It offers the best surfing on St. Thomas when there is a north swell. Located on the north side, west of Magens Bay.

Lindbergh Bay

Named after the famous aviator who landed nearby in 1928, this tranquil bay is flanked by three hotels, palm trees and sea grapes that line the shore.

Lindquist Beach

One of St. Thomas's most beautiful and pristine beaches, Lindquist Beach is situated on the east end of the island. The water is crystal-clear and typically calm. The left side of the beach is great for snorkeling.

Magens Bay

St. Thomas's most popular beach, this beautiful one-mile stretch is a public park that was donated to the people of the Virgin Islands by Arthur Fairchild. The water is usually very calm in this heart-shaped protected bay. Beach chairs and floats are available for rent and burgers, pizzas and other snacks can be found at the snack bar. Lifeguards are on duty every day.

Morning Star Beach

Located at the Frenchman’s Reef & Morning Star Marriott Resort, this beach offers a restaurant and bar, watersports rentals and a scenic view of the cruise ships sailing through the harbor.

Sapphire Beach

The sapphire-blue waters here are great for snorkeling, windsurfing, jet skiing and more. The beach is located on the east end at Sapphire Beach Resort.

Secret Harbour Beach

A calm, quiet beach located at Secret Harbour Beach Resort, this beach has a floating swim platform and beach chairs available for rent.

Port Highlight: Saint Kitts and Nevis

For some of the most distinctive landscapes, check out the shore along Pump Bay or Belle Tete on St. Kitts. Of the two islands, St. Kitts is also where you'll find the most activities away from the shore (including tours of the historic Brimstone Fortress and several golf courses).
